How different are tours and photo tours?
Unlike travel agents who plan your holiday based on what is hot in that season with almost no inclination to offer you what you would want to see, Photo Tours are innovative ways to experience a place through the guidance of a professional photographer. All of our photo tours are fun with loads of learning and knowledge sharing. Moreover, since the group consists of photography enthusiasts only it makes your experience your experience more focused and fun filled.
Is there lack of oxygen in Ladakh?
Anyone traveling above 10000 Ft will find little difficult to breath normally or do any kind of physical exertion immediately. Its is mainly because of low level of atmospheric oxygen. But low atmospheric oxygen is absolutely not a cause to avoid Ladakh. Within first two days of complete rest you will acclimatize yourself to this low oxygen level and do things normally.
Do we get High Altitude Sickness in Ladakh? what are the symptoms and how we get acclimatize?
As said above anyone traveling above 10000 ft is liable to get high altitude sickness or commonly known as Acute Mountain Sickness AMS. The most common symptoms of AMS are lack of sleep, loss of appetite, dizziness, irregular breathing, etc. The best way to acclimatize is natural rest for atleast first 36-40 hrs. You can have Diamox (under consultation with your doctor) to minimize the symptoms.
How many participants are expected to share a Room?
All participants are accommodated in twin-sharing rooms. Single supplements are charged extra. Please enquire with us about your single supplement charges.
How many people will share my vehicle in while traveling from Manali to Ladakh?
We believe in giving you sufficient space to move around to adjust quickly to situations and shoot with comfort. We will have 4 – 5 people traveling per jeep.
What is the suggested equipment for this tour?
Wide angle lenses like 10-22 or 16-35 are required to capture the beautiful landscapes and cover the majestic grandeur of Ladakh. We always advise to carry a monopod / tripod to shoot spectacular low light scenes. The place can be very dusty which can harm your camera, so we strongly suggest a dust bag to keep your gear protected when not in use. Telephoto lenses like 70-200 or 100-400 are recommended for candid shots of beautiful local people and wildlife there.
I am a rank beginner in photography / I only have a simple point and shoot camera. Can I be a part of this tour?
